Staff has been asked to share information with the Board of Education regarding federal and state level guidance related to response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This guidance has been wide-ranging and covers several topics including assessment, accountability, graduation, instructional support, nutrition, transportation, Integrated Services, and Student Services. In the discussion, staff will highlight how the district is responding to the guidance that is being received from state and federal authorities.

An update on the status of construction projects is being provided as well. Specifically, information on the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting our major construction projects, including the three new schools that are currently being built in the district. This information will include an update on ongoing facilities improvement projects completed during spring break and projects planned for the summer of 2020.

Also included in this item is an educational and operational update that focuses on PSD's implementation of remote learning, device distribution and support, food distribution, internet access, information technology, finance, and human resources.

To support this update, a comprehensive report on PSD's response to the COVID-19 pandemic as of April 6, 2020 is attached. During the discussion on April 14, staff will highlight information from this report which has more detailed information about topics of interest.

The information included in this item is current as of April 6, 2020, when this agenda item was completed for submission to the Board meeting agenda packet. It is likely that there will be developments between April 7 and April 14 that impact state and federal guidance, PSD response, and district operations. If there is new information at the time the Board meets on April 14, 2020, it will be shared during the meeting.
